About Seba
Seba Kurtis (Argentina, 1974) grew up in Buenos Aires under a violent and bloody dictatorship regime. He studied journalism and was a political activist. In 2001, Argentina fell under economical and political crisis, unemployment rocketed, banks restricted access to money and chaos developed in the streets. He left for Europe and remained in Spain as an illegal immigrant for over 5 years. This experience became the main inspiration for his work, an exploration of the dynamics behind irregular migration and the resultant impact on culture, society and the individual.
Now he lives in the UK.
Seba has won various awards for his work. He had a solo show at HOST gallery in 2009 and has since exhibited ‘A Few Days More’ at Nooderlicht Photo Festival and New York Photo Festival.

About ‘A Few Days More’
For more people than ever before, home is a moveable concept, somewhere between a dream and a memory. It is this feeling that Seba Kurtis, brings to his work on the reality of illegal immigration, negotiating the treacherous seas between Africa and Europe or traversing the lawless borders between Mexico and the United States.
His unorthodox, multi-layered photographs are a product of his own shifting experience as a stateless individual. Kurtis uses experimental techniques and operates at the boundaries of image-making to assert both the unreliability of representation and the transient nature of experience. ‘Delta, Rashid’ is from the project ‘A Few Days More’ which is an investigation into the illegal immigrants that travel from Egypt to Europe in search of a better life.
